The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, has described former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi (JKF), as a “serial achiever of monumental proportions” as he marks his 60th birthday.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Babajide Agbeyo, Rt. Hon. Aribasoye hailed Fayemi as “an enigmatic and charismatic leader whose works and visions transcend momentary considerations or disposable benefits.”
The Speaker acknowledged Fayemi’s contributions to Ekiti politics, highlighting his role in entrenching enduring legacies, empowering people, and providing leadership at various levels.
“Dr. Fayemi is a profound scholar and an intellectual investor of productive ideas, as his great works will continue to produce great results in the long term,” he stated.
Rt. Hon. Aribasoye said it was noteworthy that Dr. Fayemi, as a record-maker and record-breaker, ensured his administration was succeeded by another distinguished product of the All Progressives Congress, Biodun Oyebanji, as Governor, the first of such a manner of succession in the history of Ekiti State.
“You’re a veteran in politics and a force to reckon with in the Ekiti and Nigerian political space. What you’ve gifted Ekiti State in the person of your successor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, is a diamond to cherish.”
He praised Fayemi’s impact as both an activist and politician, crediting him with mentoring numerous individuals and elevating them to prominence.
“No doubt, you’re an institution, a Colossus worthy of study and emulation, a leader and a ladder through whom many have risen to stardom and political prominence.
“You’re a blessing to this generation, a box of knowledge, a factory of ideas, and a marketable brand who is sought after even outside the shores of Nigeria for knowledge sharing and impartation.”
The Speaker prayed for divine strength and greater achievements for Fayemi in the years ahead.
“Your Excellency, as you open the chapter of sixty in the book of your life, I wish you all the best as your mentee and disciple. Aligning with the JKF school of thought has been politically stimulating, and I pray God will sustain and elevate you to more towering heights in the years ahead,” Aribasoye added.
