TRAGEDY: Scores Die in Tanker Explosion

Mr. Shuaibu Hambali, Taura Local Government Chairman, confirmed the tragic update to newsmen, stating that an additional 72 people sustained varying degrees of injuries.

Kano State Governor,  Abba Yusuf, in response to the devastating incident extended his condolences to the government and people of Jigawa State. 

In a statement from the Governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature, the incident was described as a heart-wrenching tragedy, marking a significant loss not just for Jigawa State but for the entire nation.

The statement read: “We received with deep shock the news of the devastating fire in Majia town, Taura Local Government Area, Jigawa State, which resulted in the loss of many lives and the hospitalization of numerous victims.

“On behalf of the Government and people of Kano State, I extend our deepest sympathies to Governor Umar Namadi, the government and people of Jigawa State, especially to the families of the deceased and the community of Majia.

“May Allah SWT grant eternal peace to the souls of the departed, provide a speedy recovery to those injured, and may we never witness such a catastrophe again,” the Governor prayed.
