President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria has sacked Dr. Chioma Ejikeme as Executive Secretary of the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD), just 13 months after she was reappointed for another four-year term.
This development was disclosed in a statement on Monday by Olugbenga Ajayi, Head of the Corporate Communications Unit at PTAD.
According to the statement, Tolulope Odunaiya has been appointed as the new Executive Secretary, officially taking over the role on November 18, 2024, at the PTAD headquarters.
Dr. Ejikeme, who initially took office in August 2019, served until her departure in November 2024. Notably, she had been reappointed by President Tinubu in October 2023.
In her first address to the PTAD staff, Odunaiya expressed her commitment to building on the successes of her predecessors. She highlighted the importance of fostering teamwork and unity within the organization.
“It is with a deep sense of responsibility that I take on this role as the new Executive Secretary,” Odunaiya stated. “I want to acknowledge the outstanding work of those before me and the commitment of all staff members who have brought us this far.”
Emphasizing her vision for a collaborative workplace, she added, “My goal is to create an environment where everyone feels valued, empowered, and inspired to contribute meaningfully. I call on all of us to set aside personal interests and unite in our shared mission: to enhance the well-being of our pensioners who have dedicatedly served this country, often under challenging conditions.”
