Security Agents Parade Drug Suspects In Ekiti

Parading the suspects, the retired Commissioner of Police said one of the suspects, Ayodeji Ajayi from Ijan-Ekiti, 41-year old was arrested on May 29th, 2024 at a location in Adebayo area of Ado-Ekiti while selling cocaine, heroin, nice and coronado.

Addressing journalists, Honourable Oni said on questioning the suspect, he said he was sent by a woman called Iya Eni, who gave him a N700,000 worth of the items to sell to the innocent people, young men along the street and that he had just sold N46,000 of the items before he was arrested.

The Commander who explained that the suspect gave the phone number of the accomplice said she responded when a call was put across to her and promised coming to identify her worker and bail him, but had not shown up.

In a related development, another suspect, identified as Seye Alaba,  35-year old, was arrested around the bush path in Agric Olope area of Ado-Ekiti on 30th May, 2024 while on observation patrol . 

“He was carrying black bag and when asked what was inside, it was discovered to be weed. He said he’s selling it and that all his customers had taken to their heels”. Oni explained.

Advising the people of Ekiti State particularly the youths, the Commander urged them to be weary of hard drugs saying that it can turn their head and make them not to behave well in the society and put them in trouble as well.

“From hard drugs, they take into crime commission, That’s why we record those who are carrying guns to rob banks. That’s why we record those who are carrying guns to kidnap people. That’s why we record those who are carrying guns and term themselves terrorists, who are killing our people and disturbing our farms.

“It’s good to say if you don’t take drug, you are not likely to commit crime. Immediately they take it, human being becomes nothing to them. Imagine normal people taking this kind of things on daily basis, are we building our youths or they are being destroyed?” The Commander queried.

Honourable Olamide Oni, however said after profiling the suspects that they will be handed over to the police who know the best action to be taken against them.
