ROAD CRASH: 13 Dead in Ondo as Buses Collide

The crash, which involved two commercial buses, took place on Saturday morning.

According to eyewitnesses, one of the buses, traveling from the Ikare axis, suffered a tyre blowout, leading to a head-on collision with another bus loaded with fabric coming from the Owo direction.

The impact caused both vehicles to burst into flames.

Dr. Samuel Ibitoye, the Ondo Sector Commander of the FRSC, reported that only one person survived the crash but sustained serious injuries.

The survivor has been taken to the Federal Medical Centre in Owo for treatment, while the remains of the deceased were deposited in the hospital’s morgue.

Dr. Ibitoye expressed condolences to the families of the victims and urged passengers to hold drivers accountable for dangerous driving practices to help prevent future tragedies.
