New Rector of The Federal Polytechnic, Ado-Ekiti, Engr. Temitope John ALAKE has, with a view to making a fresh start under his watch, rejigged the Polytechnic Administration by making some fresh appointments
Dr. Alake, who assumed office as the Rector in the wake of the recent election break for Tertiary Institutions, on Thursday, 23rd February, 2023, hit the ground running with the appointment of Dr. Olusola Luke Oluwagbuyi as the new Dean of the Institution’s Continuing Education Centre (CEC) with effect from 1st March, 2023.
Statement by the Director of Protocol, Information and Public Relations, Mr. Adeyemi Adejolu, says the Rector has also within one month of his assumption of office as the 7th Substantive and 2nd Alumnus Rector of the Polytechnic made other key appointments across Directorates, specialised Centres and other arms of the Polytechnic Administration.

In a related development, Dr. Alake has extolled the contributions of past leadership of the institution and everyone including Council Chairmen and members who have played one role or another to build the Polytechnic to an enviable level. He further lauded the sacrifice of every staff towards the growth of the Institution.
The Rector stated this in his opening remarks at his Maiden meeting as Chairman of the Institution’s Congregation on Friday, 24th March, 2023. He assured that Staff and students’ welfare are the key goals of his vision and noted that nothing would be denied the workers and anyone, who is worthy of necessary rewards.
Dr. T. J. Alake, while pleading with all Staff of the Institution to eschew all forms of division and bitterness, urged them to regard themselves as brothers and sisters who, “inspite of any past disagreements, must love one another and work as a team to attain the beckoning lofty heights for the Polytechnic.”
He alluded to the changes being made as a development that had become necessary in order to ensure a powerful take off for the delivery of targets of his Vision coded as, DISECT : D = Discipline and Dedication; I = Integrity; S = Sacrifice and Service; E = Excellence; C = Creativity; and T for Teamwork.
The new Rector also counselled the Polytechnic Staff to be patient with his administration in delivering the dividends of good governance and stressed that he was open to correction through Constructive Criticisms geared towards improving the system.
