By Morenike Oluwatoyin

The Friday afternoon downpour has sacked members of the Ekiti NUJ electronic chapel from their office at Oke ori omi area.

The rain water which penetrated through the leaking roof of the office space which is a state government facility embarrassed the journalists who had to run helter skelter to rescue their laptops and other gadgets even as they were drenched with water.

The incident affected some laptops and phones being charged before the rain started.

Some repair jobs were carried out on the dilapidated office by the journalists over the years, the same situation experienced by the NUJ Secretariat and the print correspondent’s office before the recent government intervention.
