PS, Local Govt Sevice Commission Charges Staff On Service Delivery In Ekiti

The staff of Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission and the Local Government Staff Loans Board have been charged to embrace work ethics in order to improve upon their efficiency in service delivery in the year 2023.

The Permanent Secretary Local Government Service Commission, Mr.Babatunde Jegede gave the charge at the New Year meeting held with the workers at the Commission.

He urged them to reflect on the local government service with a view to fashioning out ways to reposition the service for effectiveness and promptness in all their activities.

According to MrJegede, “the staff must brace up for the challenges of the 21st century public service by eschewing lateness to work, truancy, red tapeism and other acts capable of tarnishing the image of the service”.

Statement by the Director of Information, Local Government Service Commission, Mr. Stanley Familoye says, the Permanent Secretary emphasized that all hands must be on deck to ensure the  success of Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji led administration adding that the 6-Point Agenda of the Governor was carefully designed to better the lots of the people of Ekiti State.

He lauded Mr.Governor for his welfare packages for the workforce stressing that payment of salaries and allowances have been prioritized and urged them to reciprocate the gesture.

Responding on behalf of the staff, the Branch Chairman of NULGE, Comrade Olanrewaju Falade commended the permanent secretary for charting a new course for the service adding that the PS has demostrated competence and courage in leadership.

While assuring the Permanent Secretary of the absolute support of the entire staff, the labour leader thanked him for the welfare supports to staff during the yuletide.

The NULGE Chairman then presented a portrait photograph to the Permanent Secretary in appreciation of his good works.
