Prophet Olu-Alo Assures Youths Of Job Opportunity As Adamimogo 107.7FM Begins Operation In Ekiti

By Ayodele Abere

The man of God stated this in Ido-Ekiti over the weekend at the official commissioning of Adamimogo 107.7 FM Ido-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

The Prophet who was not privileged to go to school but had really traversed in the course of missionary work, said he had once spent three months at the Prayer Mountain in Erio – Ekiti without having the opportunity of changing the only cloth he was wearing on the mountain, is today an employer of labour.

While explaining what led to the establishment of the new radio station in Ekiti, the Founder said when he wanted to launch the Adamimogo Radio Station and Guests House in Ibadan, that he  came to tell the Olojudo of Ido-Ekiti who is the current Chairman of Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers, His Royal Majesty, Oba Ayorinde Ilori Faboro, and that the monarch told him that after that of Ibadan, that the next one is Ido-Ekiti, the request he said he didn’t hesitate to even though he was not having such plan then.

“As at last year October, I didn’t have the plan of building a radio station. Since Kabiyesi said he wanted similar thing done in Ido-Ekiti, I didn’t hesitate because I so much love the town, and that’s where the vision of Adamimogo 107.7 FM Ido-Ekiti started”.

Olu-Alo stated that the land on which the structure was erected was allocated to him by the monarch and his wive, and that the  foundation was laid on 5th December, 2023 and launched in May, 2024 which means the radio station was built within just six months.

The Prophet who derives much pleasure in assisting people and  giving back to his community noted that government has so many issues to tackle and that they can’t do all things for the citizenry, said individuals equally have some roles to play.

The Founder of the new radio station who knows the challenges of his people said, he would use his entire life for the service of humanity.

“With the number of people working in all the Adamimogo establishments, I know my life has impacted many people positively. Having the station in Ido-Ekiti will also boost the economy of the town and also more talents will be discovered.”

In his bid to get more youths profitably engaged, Prophet Sam Olu-Alo, has promised to establish a modern piggery where at least twenty thousand pigs will be exporting from Ekiti. He’s also proposing to have Palm tree plantations where about two hundred people will be working.

He therefore sought for 300 hectares of farmlands from three different towns, at least one hundred hectares from each town for rearing different animals and other plantations which will no doubt improve the IGR and bring more development to the state. He however, said he wouldn’t mind if a town is ready to release the 300 hectares of land for the purpose.

In his word, “Kidnapping cases are very rampant in Nigeria because the bushes that ought to have been cleared and cultivated have remained thick forests. They are just there useless without yielding any profit to the country. That’s why everyone is hungry. Maize and cassava will also be planted in those farmlands for the benefit of the people.

The Honourable Commissioner for Information in Ekiti, Chief Taiwo Olatunbosun ably represented by the Permanent Secretary of his Ministry, Pastor Sesan Alabi noted that Ido-Ekiti is the second town in Ekiti State that is having a radio station outside the State capital, Ado-Ekiti.

The Commissioner said that the establishment of the radio station is part of the fulfillment of Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s shared prosperity agenda.

“Can you imagine the number of people that will be employed in this station? The bricklayers, the carpenters, the people who fixed windows and the people that fixed the lights. All of them got the job because this station is here.

While assuring the station of government cooperation like all other stations in the State, the Commissioner said whatever  government can do at providing security and enabling environment for the station shall be done, not only to the electronic media but also all other media in the State.

“Ekiti State subscribes to freedom of information, freedom of speech. We have never gag any press. We allow every station to follow their own agenda and we cooperate with them.

“Rather than sanction any untoward news, we counter with our beautiful news. Gagging the press is not part of Ekiti State government agenda. We shall continue to partner with all the stations towards proper information management in Ekiti. The Commissioner pledged.

Earlier, the Chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists in Ekiti, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi  expressed great delight over the establishment of the new radio station in the State considering the high rate of unemployment in Nigeria.

According to him, “today, we are gradually having vacancies in the media sector because of people like Prophet Sam Olu-Alo. I am happy to appreciate our daddy because I have a lot of my members that have been employed by the Prophet and today, they are doing well.

“Not just because they have been given employment alone but because they have also been given a better welfare package that is not comparable anywhere in Nigeria.

The occasion was well graced by  religious leaders, royal fathers, media practitioners, friends and family of the founder, Prophet Sam Olu-Alo and several well wishers.
