President Buhari Commissions Two TETFUND Sponsored Projects Worth N550M In EKSU

President Mohammadu Buhari has commissioned two projects worth  #550 million sponsored by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND) in Ekiti State University, Ado – Ekiti. 

At the commissioning ceremony of a twin lecture theatre for the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Medical Ward of the university Health Centre, the President appreciated the Executive Secretary of TETFUND, Mr Sonny Echono  for the successful completion of the projects.

He remarked that the Tertiary Education Trust fund (TETFUND) has performed excellently well with  the support of the Federal Government.

In a statement issued by the Head, Directorate of Information & Corporate Affairs, Mr. Bode Olofinmuagun, the President, who was represented by the Minister of Trade, Industry and Investment, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo reiterated his administration’s commitment and support for the education sector in Nigeria.

He further congratulated the Vice Chancellor for the developmental strides in the institution as Ekiti State University is not excluded from the TETFUND intervention fund.

President Buhari commended the efforts of TETFUND in the areas of Human Capital Development through sponsorship of conferences, trainings and researches.

He further admonished the University to make judicious use of educational development fund through proper usage of facilities and good maintenance culture.

The Executive Secretary of TETFUND, Architect Sonny Echono who was represented by the Director of Monitoring & Evaluation, Architect Babatunde Olajide, assured that the agency would continue to support excellence and innovation in institutions of higher learning, stating that the commissioning of the projects was to showcase the achievements of President Buhari in the education sector.

In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, Professor Edward Olanipekun, represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Professor Babatola Ayodele stated that TETFUND has indeed been helpful in the areas of physical infrastructure and human development. 

He listed projects that the agency has sponsored in the university and appealed for more interventions.

The Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji was represented at the occasion by the Permanent Secretary, Teaching Service Commission, Mr. Michael Omolayo.
