Police Arrests Two For Stealing Govt Diesel In Ekiti

Two people have been arrested by Ekiti State Police for allegedly stealing government diesel.

Statement made available to newsmen by the State PPRO, DSP Abutu Sunday on behalf of the State Commissioner of Police, CP Dare Ogundare, in Ado-Ekiti, the State capital says, on 20/06/2023 at about 1830hrs, the Command Rapid Response Squad (RRS), while on patrol along NTA Road, Ado-Ekiti, arrested one “Joseph Danjuma” with a 25litres jerrycan containing diesel suspected to have been stolen.

According to the statement, during interrogation, “the suspect confessed to have stolen the diesel from the government generator plant located along NTA road powering the street lights in Ado metropolis”

The suspect was reportedly confessed to have been stealing diesel from the generator plant and mentioned one “Bankole Idowu” who was subsequently arrested as his partner in the crime.

The two ( 2) suspects will be arraigned accordingly”. Said the police.
