Police Arrest Husband for Attacking Wife with Hot Oil, Knife

The incident occurred following a misunderstanding between the couple, during which Kazeem, in a fit of anger, attacked his wife.

Mutiat sustained severe burns and injuries from the assault.

The police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident in a statement issued to journalists on Saturday. The attack was reported by a community member at approximately 12:20 p.m. on January 18, 2025, leading to the immediate arrest of the suspect.

Mutiat is currently receiving treatment for her injuries at Ore Ofé Hospital in Owode Egba. The police have launched an investigation into the case, and Kazeem remains in custody.

The police statement reads: “The Divisional Police Officer in Owode Egba Division swiftly intervened in this case of gender-based violence, leading to the arrest of Kazeem Sholola for inflicting serious injuries on his wife.”
