Osun State Govt Inaugurates Committee On Palliative Distribution

The Osun state government has inaugurated a committee to spearhead the distribution of palliatives given to the state by the federal government to cushion the effects of petrol subsidy removal.

Speaking on the matter, Osun State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Hon. kolapo Alimi dispelled speculation that government is hoarding the 3000 bags of rice received by the state for citizens.

He however confirmed that the 3000 bags are available for anyone to verify adding that Osun government is yet to receive the sum of 5 billion naira palliative announced by the federal government for 36 states of the country.

Hon Alimi added that the State is expecting additional 14,000 bags from the federal government.

According to him, Osun State deputy governor, Prince kola Adewusi has inaugurated the committee that will monitor  the distribution of the items 

He said the committee is made up of leaders of Christian Association of Nigeria in the State, Chairman of the muslim community, persons with special needs, labour movements, market women and inter-party advisory council of nigeria in the state.

He said the committee would meet and fashion out ways of distributing the grains to the poorest of the poor in the state without rancour.
