The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has finally addressed the arrest of convicted cross-dresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky.
Earlier, social media influencer and activist Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, shared the news in a video posted on his Instagram page.
Confirming Bobrisky’s arrest, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) acknowledged that the cross-dresser was apprehended yesterday at the Seme Border while attempting to flee the country. The Service Public Relations Officer (SPRO), Kenneth Udo, stated that Bobrisky is considered a “person of interest.”
He added, “In line with our commitment to border security, the NIS intercepted Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, at the Seme Border during an attempt to leave the country.
“The Service wishes to inform the public that Okuneye is a person of interest over recent issues of public concern. He is undergoing interrogation and will be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further action.
“The Service assures the public that it will continue to be civil and professional in its statutory responsibility of manning the country’s borders.”
