NGO Lauds NDLEA DG Over Consistent War Against Drug Abuse In Nigeria

The Executive Coordinator of Rural and Urban Aid For Youth Development Initiative, a non-governmental organization, Mr Femi Oyebode has commended the brilliant and courageous efforts of the Chairman, Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Gen. Buba Maruwa (rtd) towards drug abuse in Nigeria.

Oyebode, who stated this during the domestication of the National Drug Control Master Plan and the year 2022 War Against Drug Abuse and Violent Crime Campaign across the three senatorial districts of Ekiti, lauded NDLEA and other agencies for partnering with Rural and Urban Aid for Youth Development Initiative in waging war against drug abuse among our youths.

The Coordinator who noted that drug and crime is a siamese twins, added that his organization is out among other things to sensitise the youths to avoid drug abuse, illicit drug consumption, cultivation and trafficking.

He called on all stakeholders to join hand with his NGO to address the drug abuse that has become a cancer which according to him had eaten deep into the moral fabric of our youths in the country noting that no international, national or local government can do this alone.

The Executive Coordinator emphasized the need for rehabilitation and reintegration of drug dependent person and peacefully resolving conflict among youths in Nigeria

Oyebode commended the Ekiti State Governor Dr. John Kayode Fatemi, Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu- Gambari and other international agencies for their support towards achieving the objectives and goals of the organization.
