NDLEA Arrests 218 Suspected Drug Dealers, Seizes 20kg Drug In Kaduna

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kaduna State Command, says it operatives have arrested 218 suspects and seized 5,610, 20kg illicit drug in the state. 

The state Commander NDLEA, Mr Ibrahim Braji, told newsmen  in Kaduna, that the arrest and the seizure were made in the first quarter of 2023.

Braji said a total of 218 suspects were arrested within the period under review, which included 206 male and 12 female suspects respectively. 

According to him “This figure represents both drugs dealers and users .

The Commander said the 5,610, 20kg various drug seized included Indian Hemp, Heroin, Cocaine, Methamphetamine, Tramadol and other Psychotropic substances.

He disclosed that the command equally convicted 25 offenders. 

“The command carried out various sensitisation and awareness programmes .

“We counseled about 96 drug users while it has rehabilitated a number of persons, “Alhaji said.

Braji, said the command will continue it fight against drug trafficking and illegal drug consumption in the state to standstill .

He advised parents to also always monitor their children all the time, and support every citizen in the state.
