The Executive Chairman of Ado Central Local Council Development Area of Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Engineer Toyin Ojo, popularly referred to as ETO, has said that his main target for the second term in office is for his LCDA to be the best in terms of Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).
He also linked this to the charge by the State Governor for improved IGR as well as the security of lives and property of the people.
The Chairman made this remark while fielding questions from journalists at his residence in Ado-Ekiti, the capital city of Ekiti State after his inauguration.
Engineer Ojo who said he would want whoever coming after him to leverage on that to sustain the legacies that he would leave behind at the expiration of his second term in office assured that no other local government/council area Chairman will surpass his achievement in terms of IGR.
Aside improved IGR, the Chairman said his people should expect more development in the LCDA. “I am known for all these, and all that I have started during my first term would continue. I want to raise the bar of my LCDA through the Internally Generated Revenue. Last year, we generated N10,000,000. This year about about N16,000,000. because there’s nothing one can do without money”. Said the Council boss.
The Chairman who was much happy about his coming back for the second term noted that, this is the first time in the history of Ado-Ekiti that a Chairman would be elected twice. “I am happy to be among the people that were elected for the second time in the history of the town”.
While appreciating God for making this possible, he equally thanked the Governor of Ekiti, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, his family especially his wife for the support, and appealled to his people in the Council area to continue with the support and the cooperation they have always giving him for them to be able to enjoy more dividends of democracy as he explained that they haven’t seen anything yet saying he has just started.
