Minister Sensitizes Residents On FG Intervention Programmes In Ekiti

The Minister who was represented by the Head, Federal Information and Resource Centre, Ekiti State, Mrs. Oluyemisi Omotola stated this during the sensitization and public enlightenment on federal government’s intervention programmes held on Thursday, 19th September, 2024 in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.

Alhaji Idris who explained that the Federal Government initiated different palliative programmes for the benefit of citizens, said that more palliative programmes would be on course under the president Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, and assured that the current economic hardship occasioned by the fuel subsidy removal would soon become a history.

In continuation of the two days sensitisation programme, the staff of the Federal Information and Resource Centre led by the Head, Mrs.Oluyemisi Omotola, on Friday took to the streets of Ado-Ekiti in spite of the earlier sensitisation exercise to various Local Governments in the State to futher sensitise the citizens on Government’s planned socio-economic programmes for the people.

The sensitisation which was done in English language, Pidgin, Yoruba language and Ekiti dialect aimed at capturing the interest of residents in the State as it involved one-on-one sessions with passersby, road users, market men and women as well as the commuters in general who were all happy to receive the heartwarming information on the activities of Federal Government.

Some of the government’s socio-economic intervention initiatives include Students Loan Scheme, Consumer Credit Corporation, Compressed Natural Gas Initiative, Digital and Creative Enterprises (iDiCE) programme, Skill-Up Artisans Programme (SUPA), National Youth Talent Export Programme (NATEP), Housing Initiatives, Nano Business Support, Nigerian Youth Academy (NIYA), Micro and Small Business Loans, and NDDC Internship Scheme for Niger Delta Youths.

The residents expressed their Joy at the federal government’s readiness to seeing to the alleviation of their suffering therefore promised to access the websites and do the needful to benefit from the intervention initiatives

Other places visited for the awareness are; the Pensioners Forum, the Police Force, the Artisans, civil servants and schools among others.
