A renowned medical practitioner in Ekiti State, Dr. Adebayo Orire has stated that, for a nation like Nigeria to grow, it must break up.
The medical expert who is also a politician of note stated this over the weekend at his country home, Ikoro-Ekiti in Ijero Local Government Area of Ekiti State while speaking with newsmen on the state of the nation during the burial ceremony of his late mother, madam Dorcas Adekunbi.
According to Dr. Orire, “Nigeria should break up either to prosper, expand and flourish. Or otherwise. I have been a politician and I have not even found my foot in politics because of the truth. I want to be known for saying the truth as it should be.
Giving credence to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he described the President as an activist, a very brilliant and seasoned politician, saying if Tinubu is called out of the presidency that he would no doubt proffer solutions to the nation’s challenges. “He would do it in two minutes. I don’t know what happens now that he’s the president”. Dr. Orire said
Stressing, he described the breaking up as long overdue. Dr. Adebayo Orire who condemned various nefarious occurrences in the country noted and queried, “how can people be killing each other and nothing will happen? How can people be stealing trillions of naira and nothing would happen? How can people be stealing even political positions and nothing would happen? “Is all prolonging the evil day”, said the medical expert.
Reacting to how he felt about the demise of his mother, Madam Dorcas Adekunbi Orire, even though, he is not the first child of his mother, but the first son noted that it is natural for one to feel sad when one loses one’s mother.
“My mother was old. She was 107- year- old. I felt the loss but I was most happy she lived a most beautiful life. She wasn’t sick. She didn’t lose her memory. There’s no loss of any function. When she was going to die, she just changed briefly for a day or two without pains and that’s how good people die”.
Describing the personality of his late mother, Orire explained that his mother was very hardworking, selfless and that she could give her eyes without expecting anything back.
“That’s the most laudable part of it. My mother was not expecting you to come and help her because she helped you. Not even the children. If you didn’t give her money or anything, she would still pray for you the same way she would pray for the one that gives all the time. She was just good.
“My mother was a bank of information. Her memory is beyond physical. Even though she didn’t go to school, she was the one teaching my children multiplication table. She would understand all the English you’re speaking but she may not be able to respond. She was just very sensitive, perceptive, the woman was good”. He affirmed.
He said he would miss all those rare good qualities of his mother, Dr. Adebayo Orire said his epitaph on the tomb of his very caring and beloved mother would be that, she was an example of goodness and hardwork.
