Ladoja Denies Akande’s Allegation on Bola Ige’s Assassination

Speaking at his residence in Ibadan on Tuesday, Ladoja described Akande’s statement as false, insisting that his administration did not interfere in the case.

“Chief Bola Ige was assassinated on December 23, 2001, while I became governor on May 29, 2003—18 months later. My government did not withdraw any case. The matter was even pursued up to the Supreme Court,” Ladoja stated.

He further accused Akande of repeatedly making misleading claims. “This is not his first time lying. Even Baba Adebanjo said the same thing in his book. We are all concerned about Ige’s murder. I was very close to him when he was alive,” he added.

Chief Akande had earlier suggested that Ladoja might have crucial information about the assassination, reigniting discussions about the unresolved case.
