Gov. Umar Namadi of Jigawa has restated commitment to quality healthcare service delivery in the state.
The governor stated this during an unscheduled visit to the General Hospital, Dutse.
This is contained in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr Hamisu Gumel, in Dutse.
Namadi said that his administration accorded premium to quality healthcare delivery, and pledged to upgrade the hospital and other health facilities across the state.
The governor, however, decried the poor services at the hospital, warning that erring health personnel would be sanctioned.
“The governor was particularly upset to find out that patients including infants are buying drugs in the hospital.
“This contravened the government’s policy of providing free healthcare to children below the age of five in the state,” it said.
