The incident was reportedly happened on Monday afternoon when the monarch were returning to their various destinations after a security meeting. Just as the pupils and staff of the Apostolic Nursary and Primary School, Emure-Ekiti were also abducted on their way home same day after school hours.
In a statement co-signed by the Chairman, Mr. Anthony Adesua and the Public Relations Executive of the Institute in the State, Mr. Ayodele Abere, says the two ugly incidents were targeted at distabilising the peace which Ekiti State and its people are known for.
While commiserating with the State government, immediate families of the slain monarchs and Ekiti people in general, the statement urged that the security architecture of the state be strengthened to contain the recurrence of such occurrences in the state.
The statement also enjoined the leadership of every community and towns in the State to ensure that the local hunters and vigilantes in their domains are well equipped and trained to combat kidnapping and banditry.
While praying for the safe rescue of the abducted staff and school children, the statement further urged the security agencies to live up to their responsibilities.
