The confirmation followed the presentation of a report by the Senate Committee on Establishment and Public Service during Wednesday’s plenary.

However, the nomination of Nnanna Kalu, the Southeast representative and younger brother of former Abia Governor Orji Uzor Kalu, was put on hold pending an investigation by the Senate Committee on Ethics, Code of Conduct, and Public Petitions.

The confirmed members are:

South-South: Saviour Enyiekere, Patrick Giwa, Mrs. Mary Ekpeyong

North-West: Suleiman Hunkuyi, Yusuf Yusuf

North-East: Aminu Malle, Alhaji Mahmud

North-Central: Mark Terso, Salihu Balogun

South-West: Taiwo Oluga, Afeez Ipesa-Balogun

South-East: Festus Odii

Chairman of the Committee, Senator Cyril Fasuyi, assured the Senate of the appointees’ competence and credibility.

Senator Seriake Dickson (PDP-Bayelsa) commended the committee for a thorough vetting process but highlighted the exclusion of Bayelsa State from the commission, calling for greater fairness in regional representation.
