FG Declares December 25, 26, January 1 as Public Holidays

This announcement was made by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement signed by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo extended warm seasonal greetings to all Nigerians, urging citizens to use the festive period to reflect on the values of love, peace, and unity that the season represents.

He highlighted the importance of fostering harmony and strengthening bonds within families and communities during this period.

“The Christmas season offers a unique opportunity for both spiritual reflection and national renewal. As we commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace, let us embrace acts of kindness and goodwill, transcending our differences,” the Minister stated.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo reaffirmed the government’s dedication to promoting peace, security, and prosperity nationwide. He also called on citizens to remain committed to the country’s unity and progress for sustainable development.

While wishing Nigerians a joyful Christmas and a prosperous 2025, the Minister expressed optimism about the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. He assured that the administration’s efforts would usher in a better and more prosperous economy in the coming year.
