Fayemi Inaugurates Ekiti Head Of Service

Ekiti State governor, Dr John Kayode Fayemi has inaugurated the State’s new Head of Service, Barrister Bamidele Agbede.

Taking the Oath of allegiance and Oath of office at the Exco Chamber,Governor’s Office,Ado-Ekiti, governor Fayemi described the role of the new helmsman as that of providing leadership for the civil servants who are the major drivers of government’s policies and programmes,adding that success of such policies and programmes depends largely on the functionality of the civil service.

He said his administration has successfully institutionalized a process driven structure to ensure that only the best gets to the leadership of the state public service which is a deliberate effort to restoring values, dignity and honour of the homogeneous state.
The Governor enjoined the new Head of Service to justify the confidence reposed in him and align with the state government policies and programmes enunciated in the 5-pillar agenda.

The new Head of service,Barrister Agbede who becomes the ninth head of service since the creation of Ekiti State in 1996, promised to sustain the transformation agenda in the state public service in building a 21st century civil service. Until his new appointment, he was Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Transport.
Agbede takes over the mantle of leadership from the State’s first female Head of Service, Mrs Peju Babafemi, who exited from the State Civil Service in June,in compliance with with the mandatory retirement age of 35years.
