EKSU Nursing Sciences, 42 Others Get Full Accreditation

The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) in a letter dated 20th May, 2024 and addressed to EKSU Vice Chancellor,  conveyed the Council’s approval for the university’s Nursing Sciences programme “for five years after which the institution shall be revisited for reassessment”.

The letter, signed by the Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the Council, Dr Faruk Abubakar, stated further that the Nursing Sciences programme “is adequate in content and coverage and it is in line with that of the NMCN. The Council also approved the upward review of the university’s annual intake of students from 50 to 100.

In a similar development,  42 other academic programmes, cutting across the various faculties of the university, presented to the National Universities Commission (NUC), received full accreditation status for five years.

In a statement by the Head, Directorate of Information and Corporate Affairs, Mr  Bode Olofinmuagun, the University community received the positive news with admiration, while the Vice Chancellor, Professor Edward Olanipekun has received accolades for the development.
