EKSU Host 1st International Conference in Scientific Research 

The theme of the conference was titled “Empowering Science for Sustaining Solution: Modeling the future through scientific research”.

The pinpointnews reports that the conference which is currently being held at the Faculty of Science twin hall started on Feb.17, with arrival of participants from various universities and would end on Feb. 21.

In his address of welcome, the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Joseph Ayodele, commended the Deans, local organising committee of the faculty of science for success of the conference.

Prof. Ayodele, who was represented by the Provost of Medicine, Prof. Deji Ayayi, 

said science is the bedrock of technology and technology transforms every aspect of daily lives of human beings.

“Almost all nations of the world have adopted the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals(SDGs) among which Nigeria is.

“I am very sure that this trend of thought is what led to the birth of this international conference to empower the faculty  of science with the ability to do more.

“I am delighted with this achievement of faculty of science, I hereby urge all faculties to sustain on their research activities to solve societal problems,” he said.

The vice chancellor, however welcome all participants to the university and urged them to enjoy greenery, ambience and rich culture of Ekiti.

He assured them that the communique drafted after the conference would be given utmost support for implementation.

Similarly, the Dean of Faculty of Science, Prof. Ebenezer Faweya,  said the main goal of the conference was to share ideas which would enable the participants make use of it in their respective fields.

He thanked the vice chancellor, faculty board of science, planning committee, organisations, enterprises and individuals who have contributed to make the conference a success.

In the same vein, the Chairman of Local Organising Committee for the conference, Prof. Mathew Isinkaye, urged the participants to pay attention, ask questions, share ideas and explore research innovations that would be discussed during the conference.

“For many years the faculty of science has been working hard to organise an international conference which would bring scholars in science to share innovative ideas that would sharpened the development of science.

“I am happy that today we are hosting the first International Conference that we have always wanted,” he said.

Prof. Isinkaye, thanked the vice chancellor of the university, Prof. Joseph Ayodele for the financial support and creating an enabling environment to ensure the success of the conference.

The two guest speakers of the conference are, Prof. Rotimi Ajayi, the Vice Chancellor of Wellspring University, Benni City and Prof. Ganiyu Oboh from Federal University of Technology, Akure(FUTA).

They charged the participants to pay rapt attention and avoid any forms of distractions to enable them benefit immensely from the five days conference.
