EKSG Inaugurates New Learning Passport For Improved Educational System

Secretary to the Ekiti State Government, Dr Habibat Adubiaro, has said that the State is gradually attaining its dream of human capital development as one of the key pillars of the Biodun Oyebanji-led administration.

Dr. Adubiaro, who made the remark at the inauguration of Nigeria Learning Passport,NLP,in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, described the initiative as a step in the right direction. 

Nigeria Learning Passport is a digital solution designed to improve learning outcomes by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. The SSG said the state government is happy that the project has come on stream in Ekiti,adding that undoubtedly the government is poised to improve the state’s educational system and the intellectual capacity of Ekiti residents.

The State government’s scribe also appreciated what she described as the ingenuity of the federal government and the Federal Ministry of Education for its  partnership with UNICEF and other important bodies for the Nigeria Learning Passport (NLP) project, thereby making Nigeria one of the twenty one countries that has embraced the educational resourcefulness among the comity of nations.

She also acknowledged and appreciated the efforts of the previous and current administrations in the state for their unflinching commitment to educational development. “Our state is widely known for its educational capabilities as evident in the numbers of academic and political elites from our homeland and I wish to specially appreciate His Excellency,the governor for his full support towards the implementation of the programme”.

According to her,”Nigeria Learning Passport (NLP) is an innovative mobile education platform specifically designed for pre-primary, primary and secondary schools learning, focusing on digitalized and extensive curriculum filled with quality educational contents and leaning materials. This would significantly improve Leaning opportunities for the young population of Nigeria if fully implemented throughout the length and breadth of the federation.”

The SSG stressed that for the educational system to remain relevant in an ever changing globalized world, there must be continuous application of innovations, methodologies and approaches for the effective delivery of education in the nation.

“Digital learning has become an essential tool of evolving education in a globalized world and we cannot afford to be left behind”.
