The Executive Chairman of Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board, (SUBEB), Prof. Femi Akinwumi has felicitated with the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji on his latest award of honour as the Silverbird Man of the Year.
The SUBEB boss in a statement described the honour as a proof of Governor Oyebanji’s exemplary leadership, unwavering and unparalleled commitment to public service as well as his relentless pursuit of development of Ekiti State through the Six – point agenda of his administration.
Prof. Akinwumi said that Governor Oyebanji since assumption of office has created a niche for himself through his inclusive style of governance, noting that his integrity, hardwork and selflessness have endeared him to everyone within and outside the state including the media resulting to his national recognition at different fora.
He acknowledged the giant strides of the Governor in the basic education sector with particular reference to infrastructural development of schools, payment of counterpart funds, provision of instructional materials, appointment of more teaching and non teaching staff, welfare packages for teachers,etc which have made primary education the toast of all.
“The growing influence of the governor beyond Ekiti State has continued to distinguish him as the best among his contemporaries and positively spotlighting the state to global communities.”
Prof. Akinwumi said that Governor Oyebanji has etched his name as a leader of uncommon grace,competence and unity whose leadership has reshaped the developmental trajectory of the state and redefined its political landscape and structures, bringing together stakeholders of different political backgrounds for a common goal of development.
