The new Resident Electoral Commissioner,REC,in Ekiti State, Prof. Ayobami Salami has solicited the cooperation, resilience, understanding and commitment of every stakeholder in the State in the electoral process.

Prof. Salami who canvassed this when he visited the leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists,NUJ,at the Union’s Secretariat in Ado-Ekiti, noted that such cooperation and support resulted in the success recorded by the Independent National Electoral Commission,INEC,in its previous elections in the State. The REC said that INEC on  November 12,2022 commenced a nationwide display of Preliminary Register of Voters (PRV)for claims and objections which shall end on November 25, 2022. He appealed to registered voters to participate actively by physically visiting the local government offices or explore the privilege of participating using online link of www.inecnigeria.org/display register.

The INEC chief assured the electorate and other stakeholders in Ekiti State that the 2023 general elections shall follow the same pattern of the 2022 governorship election in the application of technology.

Chairman,NUJ,Ekiti State Council, Comrade Rotimi Ojomoyela told the REC that his members will always cooperate with INEC in ensuring success of every election through adequate and objective coverage.  He said the Council has measures in place to ensure that members work within the tenets of the profession.
