Ekiti NUJ Felicitates Oyebanji On 56th Birthday

In a statement co-signed by the chairman of the Union, Comrade Kayode Babatuyi and the secretary, Comrade O’Seun Ogunsakin, the NUJ described the governor as a special gift to Ekiti State as he had within one year of his administration stabilized the polity by running an inclusive government that allows Ekiti indigenes regardless of political affiliations to have input in the governance process.

The Union which hailed the governor for completing all the projects of his predecessor in line with the state transition law said Oyebanji has consistently demonstrated that governance is about delivering quality service and ensuring better life for the people.

It added that it was impressed that the governor, for the second time since taking over as the State’s Chief Executive, has not celebrated his birthday with pomp and pageantry but has always channelized resources to bettering the lives of the less privileged, especially people living with disabilities (PWDs).

“The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in Ekiti State felicitates Governor Biodun Oyebanji who has been a good friend of the media in the State. We are impressed that the governor has successfully carried along Ekiti people in governance by engaging them regularly to get their input into the governance process. The media, as a watchdog, has been following up on the activities of the governor and we can only say that the people-centred policies and programmes are evidences that Oyebanji is a special breed and blessing to the State. On behalf of all journalists in Ekiti State, we celebrate the government and urge him not to relent in making life more comfortable for the citizenry. It is our prayer that the good Lord would give him good health and many more years so that he can continue the good works which he started”, the Union said.
