Ekiti Monarch Crashes Prices Of Food Items In His Domain

The Traditional Ruler directed that all traders must reduce prices of their food items to a reasonable level and that everyone must cooperate to bring the soaring prices of food  items down as well as using the acceptable measurement to sell gari, rice, beans, plantain flours and other items.

Towards this, members of the Alawe in Council, women chiefs including the Iyaloja and the Iyalaje stormed the central market popularly known as Oja Oba to enforce the Alawe’s directive.

Statement by the Media Adviser to Alawe of Ilawe-Ekiti, High Chief Ajibade Olubunmi says the exercise which took the chiefs more than one hour was welcomed by the traders and the buyers . Some of the buyers  who bought low priced food items during the tour hailed the Monarch for the ingenious  action while the sellers promised to bring the prices down 

The Alawe also directed Market committee of the Alawe in Council  to routinely monitor market prices in all markets in the town .
