Ekiti Govt Yet To Respond To First Class Graduate Petty Trader

By Florence Akintunde

The failure of Ekiti State government to intervene in the case of an Ekiti State First Class graduate, who turned out as a petty trader has continued to be a cause of concern.

Recall that various online news reported the case of an Ekiti-born First Class graduate in Banking and Finance from Wesley University, Ondo State, Mrs Aderonke Bukola Oniye, who appealed to well-meaning Nigerians and government to come to her aid for job employment.

However, the SSA to Ekiti Governor on Community Communications, Mrs Mary Omotosho held a meeting with Mrs Oniye and her husband, Mr Felix Oniye to intervene in the pathetic situation, where she promised to inform the governor.

According to Mr. Oniye, the SSA on Community Communications to the governor has failed to respond to their plight saying that she has not picked their calls.

He said: “After meeting with Mrs Mary Omotosho on 24th May, 2023, we have sent a message to remind her. Since 19th June, 2023, she has not picked our call or even respond to our messages.”

The Ikere-Ekiti academic guru, who also bagged a Distinction in Banking and Finance from Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo Ondo State has resorted to petty trading since there was no white-collar job.

She said she has a dream of becoming a Professor in Finance but the pathetic situation has pegged her as a petty trader.
