Ekiti Community Hails Oyebanji Over Prompt Intervention To Residents’ Needs

Residents of Iwaro-Ekiti along Afao road, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State, have lamented over deplorable state of road and electricity blackouts which they have been experiencing for years in the community.

The Community has been in total darkness in the last six years due to non availability of transformer to supply electricity to houses.

It was also gathered that the major road that joined Iwaro with other communities has been in a dilapidated condition to the extent that residents always find it difficult to ply with their vehicles.

Speaking on the agony experienced by the people living in the community, the zonal Chairman of Iwaro Community in Ado Ekiti, Sunday Abraham explained that the area lacks necessary amenities such as road, electricity and drainages, saying many have relocated to other communities due to the unpalatable development.

Also, the publicity secretary of the community, Afeniforo Omoniyi and a resident, Fatai Adetuba noted that whenever it rains, they usually find it difficult to access their houses due to the flood that normally takeover the roads.

The residents explained that they wrote series of letters to the previous administration without any positive response.  they appealed to Governor Biodun Oyebanji to come to their aid by restoring electricity to the community and repair the road.

The residents therefore commended Oyebanji’s prompt intervention to the needs of residents since his assumption of office, noting that such attitude has given him edge over others.
