Ekiti Agro Marshals Parade Herbalist, Prophet, Three Other Suspects For Various Crimes

Parading the suspects on Tuesday at the Headquarters of the security outfit in Ado-Ekiti, the State capital, the Agro Marshal Commander in the State, Honourable Olamide Oni, said one Ajewole Olamilekan, popularly referred to as PAKOLO’, a herbalist from Ayetoro Ekiti was said to have been a serial rapist in the community.

According to the Commander, “this is the third time he has raped in the community but this time he raped a minor of thirteen years old girl”. 

Oni explained that the Gender group had visited the girl in Ayetoro and that she has been taken to hospital for clean up. Paraded alongside Olamilekan, was Sunday Abiodun, a native of Igbemo Ekiti, who was alleged to have attempted to rape a 85-year old blind woman and carted away her clothes including the jewelries of the old woman. 

The Commander further explained that, one Ayodele Ajele, 45, a native of Epe-Ekiti in Ijero Local Government Area of the State, was arrested when he attempted to rape a widow of 61 years of age in her bedroom. He tore the woman’s undies and dragged out a knife to stab her before he was arrested. Said Oni.

Ajele who confessed to the commission of the offence claimed that he loves the woman, saying he didn’t know how to express his feelings for the widow, adding that he usually took Indian hemp whenever he wanted to carry out the illicit act.

A self-acclaimed prophet from Eda-Ile, one Emmanuel Abimbola Felix, who was said to have prevented the corps from arresting some people that were caught with Indian hemp as explained by the Commander, was said to injure the official of the Agro Marshal and tore his uniform. 

Another suspect, Promise Odete who was working for a woman in a supermarket in Ado-Ekiti, was said to specialize in stealing the provisions in the woman’s supermarket and went to open his own shop where he sells the provisions stolen from the woman and bought a tricycle from the gains made from the sale of the provisions. 

However, Honourable Olamide Oni promised that the case would be transferred to the police for further investigation and prosecution.
