Dream Comes True As Kolawole Abefe Gives Back To Alma Mater, Pays Students’ WAEC Fee

Addressing the students and guests at the memorable event on Monday, Mr. Abefe who was a student of the school from 1989 to 1995 explained that he has always had it in mind to give back to his alma mater once he has the opportunity. 

Going down the memory lane, he said he could remember the day he was sent home from school due to his parents’ inability to pay his school fee, saying on his way home with tears coming out of his eyes, he met the then local government chairman and the first Executive Chairman of Ayedaade Local Government of the State, Chief Mrs Aduke Raji, who according to him asked why he was crying,? Adding that the woman paid for his school fee having narrated to her what happened. 

Mr. Abefe urged the students to remain focused and study hard for them to become good ambassadors of their respective family.

In his remark, the principal of the school, Mr. A.O Adesanmi, appreciated Mr. Kolawole Abefe’s gesture noting that such a thing has never happened in the history of the school,  for an individual to single handedly pay the students’ WAEC fee. He called on other ex- students of the school to emulate Abefe’s good gesture. 

His Royal Highness, the Olufi of Gbongan  ably represented by High Chief Quazeem Ayodeji Onikepe, the Balogun of Gbonganland, appreciated Mr. Kolawole Abefe as he prayed for him.

Chief Onifade who was also a special guest at the event said the gesture of the benefactor marked a significant and landmark history since the school was established. 

The senior prefect boy/girl on behalf of all students of Gbongan/Odeomu Anglican Unity school, lauded the kind gesture and pledged that they would be good ambassadors of the school.
