Court Denies Farotimi Bail, Adjourns Case To December 20

A magistrate court in Ado-Ekiti has refused to grant bail to human rights activist Dele Farotimi, who is facing charges of defamation against Aare Afe Babalola, founder of Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD).

During the hearing on Tuesday, Magistrate Abayomi Adeosun postponed the decision on Farotimi’s bail application until December 20.

The adjournment followed arguments from the police counsel, Samson Osobu, who contended that the defendant’s bail application was procedurally flawed and improperly filed.
