CMD Gives Score Cards As FTHI Celebrates End Of Year.  … Promises Further Growth

The Chief Medical Director of Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido Ekiti, Prof Ebenezer Adekunle Ajayi has said he would not leave any stone unturned to reposition the hospital to meet the standard of 21st century organization.

Prof. Ajayi who stated this during the end of the year ceremony of the hospital affirmed that his administration has moved the hospital from a three hundred beded facility in 2018 to 400 beded facility through expansion programme.

He explained that effort is still on to increase the  hospital facility to 550 beded facility saying 150 beded ward will be constructed soon.

Apart from this, the CMD said that he is also striving to improve equipment of the hospital in clinical and non clinical areas for better service delivery. Adding that annexes of the hospital in Ise, Igogo and Ado Ekiti are well equipped.

The hospital boss promised to maintain quality service delivery at affordable rate and also continue to introduce new cost- saving mechanism to maintain the hospital and make it a pride of government and the people.

Reviewing the outgoing year, Ajayi told the gathering that his administration built the following facilities to beautify the landscape of the hospital and to reduce the infrastructural deficits namely, Physiotherapy Building, Central Medical Store, Cafeteria Building, Isolation Ward, ICU Building, Molecular/Hematology Laboratory Building, House Officers Building and Accident/Emergency Building. Also Radiology, ART, HIM/ICT, Mortuary buildings received adequate attention. Said the CMD.

According to Ajayi, some  facilities which included, Operating Theater, Male and Female Medical Wards as well as the Male Surgical Ward were also renovated.

On staff welfare, the professor of medicine thanked the Federal Government for prompt payment of salary. He told the gathering that 541 members of staff of the hospital enjoyed promotion while 281 were recruited to address massive egress of staff in search of greener pastures outside Nigeria. He therefore called on various stakeholders to come together and address brain drain in health sector to save institution in Nigeria. 

In the area of academic programme , Prof. Ajayi said the hospital Sçhool of Nursing recorded 100% success in the final qualifying examination. He commended the leaders of various unions and associations in the hospital for their understanding and cooperation. Just as he equally thanked the entire staff for their sacrifice for peace.

Professor Kunle Ajayi assured the workers that the hospital will witness more growth and transformation in the new year. Eighy-two staff of the hospital received long service award for stainless service to the hospital.
