Christmas: Emulate Christ’s Sacrifice, Minister Of Defence Urges Christians    …. Calls For Prayer To End Insecurity

The Minister of Defence Maj. Gen Bashir Salihi Magashi  (rtd) has  enjoined the Christian Faithful to make the best of the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ to be Christlike in their day -to-day  endeavours towards raising the bar of Nation building.

General Magashi (rtd) stated this in a message to felicitate with Nigerians especially the Christian faithful on the twin occasions of this year’s Christmas and New year  celebrations. 

He said the celebration of Christmas in Christendom represents a significant milestone that calls for sober reflections on Christ’s exemplary character,  conduct and forthrightness.

The Defence Minister urged Christians to emulate the virtue of sacrifice of Jesus Christ towards making the country great among comity of Nations. 

While congratulating  Christians for witnessing yet another Christmas which marks the birth of Jesus Christ, he urged them to pray for peace and tranquility in the country.

He called on Christians to pray for the Leadership of the country and for peaceful conduct of the 2023 general elections to take democratic governance to the next level.

The General who noted that Christ is the ultimate reason for the season paid tributes to the members of Armed Forces who died in line of duty and those who are safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity.

In a statement signed by the  Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Minister, Mohammad Abdulkadri, while praying for a hitch – free Christmas celebration, the Minister wished all Christians and indeed all Nigerians a happy and  prosperous New year ahead .
