Bureau Of Civic Orientation Seeks Collaboration With Women Affairs Ministry In Ekiti

During the meeting, Mrs.Famuyiwa highlighted the roles and responsibilities of the BCOC, emphasizing that the Bureau was established to foster a vibrant and inclusive society in the State through civic engagement initiatives.

“Our primary goal is to promote civic engagement and build a strong sense of active citizenship among the people of this State. We believe that by working closely with the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, we can make significant strides in achieving this objective”.

It is therefore in recognition of the pivotal role of the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development in the handling of the affairs of various components of the family unit, which form the bedrock of the society, that the BCOC had deemed it fit to seek for collaboration and partnership from the Ministry.

Mrs. Famuyiwa also solicited areas of partnership and collaboration with the Ministry, underscoring the importance of cross-departmental cooperation in addressing pressing social issues.

Welcoming the BCOC delegation, the Commissioner, Mrs. Peju Babafemi, commended Mrs. Famuyiwa for her efforts and promised that her Ministry would collaborate with the Bureau for effective service delivery.

“We are excited about the prospect of partnering with the BCOC,” Mrs. Babafemi said. “Their work in sensitizing the people of the state, especially the youths  on social vices is crucial, and we are committed to providing our full support.”

The Commissioner also advised the BCOC Director-General not to relent in her efforts at engaging the people of the state, commending Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for appointing Mrs. Famuyiwa, whom she described as a “round peg in a round hole.”

The meeting between the BCOC and the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development underscores the importance of collaborative efforts in empowering citizens and fostering a more engaged and informed society.
