BOUESTI Bursar, Babatunde Apata Emerges ABNU Vice-chairman

The Bursar of the Bamidele Olumilua University of Education Science and Technology Ikere-Ekiti (BOUESTI), Mr. Babatunde Abioye Apata has been elected as the Vice-Chairman of the Association of Bursars of Nigerian Universities (ABNU).

A statement signed by the University Public Relations Officer Mr Temitope Akinbisoye said Mr. Apata, a financial strategist and an accomplished accountant of no mean repute  was elected unopposed during the special virtual session of the Association held on Saturday, August 5, 2023.

According to him, ABNU is an association that provides professional leadership for the financial managers and Heads of support services of Nigerian Universities focusing on effectiveness, efficiency and probity, with a view to ensuring proper accountability of Universities funds. 

In his congratulatory message, the Vice-Chancellor of the  University, Prof. Olufemi Adeoluwa applauded Mr. Apata on his new status among Bursars of Nigerian Universities describing the feat as a recognition of professionalism and excellence. He said that the University authorities are proud of his achievement as a worthy Ambassador of BOUESTI and urged him to use his new position to promote professional competence, fiscal discipline and accountability among the custodians and managers of funds in the nation’s varsities.
