Zamfara State Commissioner for Commerce, Industry and Tourism, Alhaji Abdulrahaman Tubido said that all necessary arrangements were put in place for the Bank of Industries to establish branch in the state.
The commissioner made the disclosure when the leadership of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Zamfara State Council, paid him a courtesy call in Gusau.
Tunbido said that State Government and the organization had reached all the necessary modalities for the bank branch to operate, what left to locate was the structure to serve the bank as office accommodation.
According to him, if the bank commences operation, marketers will be availed with so many business interventions and other opportunities that will boost trade and investment in the state.
He added that the current administration is determining to secure jobs opportunities through commercial activities.
“This will make the government to give priority to the revival of industries especially the Gusau Textile and other Agro Allied Industries in the state.
He said this remains the major hope to regain the glory of commercial activities and create more hope for the future generation.’
The Commissioner stated that government has been working modalities with Small Scale and Medium Enterprises (SMEDEN) to secure more interventions on small and medium scale businesses for youths and women for economic development.
In his remarks, the NUJ Chairman, Ibrahim Maizare congratulates the commissioner on his appointment as executive member and assured the union’s support in achieving meaningful development to the state.
He urged the state government to provide working journalists with necessary information about government policies and programmes for effective coverage, adding that public enlightenment is critical tools for any government to succeed.
The role of the Ministry in rebuilding Zamfara cannot be over emphasised considering the current emergency situation of the state as a result of insecurity and other socio-economic challenges.
