Biden Declares January 9 National Mourning Day For Jimmy Carter

In a proclamation issued on Sunday, Biden invited Americans to gather in their places of worship to pay tribute to Carter’s legacy.

“I call on the American people to assemble on that day in their respective places of worship, there to pay homage to the memory of President James Earl Carter, Jr.

“I invite the people of the world who share our grief to join us in this solemn observance.”, Biden said.

The announcement follows Carter’s death at the age of 100, marking the passing of a leader remembered for his commitment to peace, human rights, and public service.

The day will serve as a moment for the nation and the world to reflect on his contributions to global diplomacy and humanitarian efforts.
