The Executive Chairman of Abeokuta South Local Government of Ogun state, Hon. Balogun Olaniyi Afeez (BOA) released the first list of constituted working committees to foster the development and smooth running of the Council’s affairs.
This is contained in a press statement signed by Adeolu Shobowale, the information officer of the council last Friday, stating that it is part of the quest to put in place a functional cabinet that would amplify the manifestos of the Chairman into reality.
The statement further explained that the committee was carefully constituted based on due consultations with relevant stakeholders.
Shobowale noted that the committee will be responsible for manning strategic departments, offices, and other auxiliary services that are expected to add value to running the Council.
Part of the responsibilities of the committee is to ensure reviewing of all revenue-generating departments.
Cancel all renewal of contracts and also suggest a strategy for upward review of fees, rates, etc.
Recommend other avenues for revenue generation such as; transport, more levies, and consider ways to plug all leaks in revenue collections amongst others.

Rehabilitation and renovation of LG property i.e. hospitals, pry sch, and other LG-owned buildings.
Suggest ways we can engage CDA/CDC to foster a working relationship with ASLG to foster impactful developmental projects in their respective areas. i.e., engaging CDA directly to explore ways that both can finance these projects (counterpart funding from other sources /LG participation), Productive Use Assessments- Agro, e-mobility, water-boreholes, etc.

(1) Audit & identification “Conduct a comprehensive audit to identify remaining government-owned Lands in Abeokuta South Local Government.
