The Association of Tourism Practitioners in Nigeria ( ATPN) , Ekiti State Chapter is inviting all stakeholders in the hospitality and tourism industry in the State to the inauguration of the Executive members of the Association.
Statement by the Public Relations Officer of the Association, Mr. Ayodele Abere which was made available to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti, the State capital as jointly signed by the Chairman, Dr. Mrs. Abigail Olagbaye and the Secretary, Miss Itunu Ajose, says the significant event follows the recent approval by the National Governing Council of the Association.
According to the statement, the event slated for Thursday 17th, August, 2024 will be held at AMOR HOTEL, off Iworoko Road, Ado-Ekiti at 12:00pm prompt with the theme: “Strategies to Unlocking Economic Opportunities of Landlocked Destinations: Expanding the Frontier of Tourism in Ekiti-State”.
The statement further reveals that the groundbreaking event will serve as a testament to the enduring impact of ATPN on tourism sector to celebrate the landmark achievements of tourism practitioners and highlight the transformative power of Dr. Desziree Richardson’s vision of fostering a community of unity, support and empowerment.
Meanwhile, the Ekiti State Chapter of ATPN, has officially received its Certificate of Registration from the Bureau of Tourism Development, Ekiti State.
Presenting the Certificate to the newly appointed Chairman of the Association, Dr. Abigail Olagbaye, at a formal ceremony held at the Governor’s office Ado-Ekiti recently, the Director General of the Bureau of Tourism Development, Ekiti State, Barrister Wale Ojo-Lanre, said the recognition signifies the Association’s active role in Ekiti State and its partnership with the Bureau to foster collaboration among tourism practitioners and stakeholders, thereby enhancing the sector’s growth and sustainability in the State.
Barrister Ojo-Lanre expressed his enthusiasm about the registration, saying that the establishment of the Ekiti State Chapter of the ATPN is a landmark achievement for tourism sector in the State, noting that ATPN will serve as a platform for tourism practitioners to share knowledge, promote best practices, and work collaboratively towards positioning Ekiti as a premier tourism destination in Nigeria.
In her remark, the State Chairman of the Association, Dr Mrs. Abigail Olagbaye, emphasized the importance of unity among tourism professionals in both public and private sectors. She affirmed that the event marks a significant step forward towards the development and promotion of tourism in Ekiti State.
On the occasion of EKIFEST 2024, the Ekiti State Chapter of ATPN under the leadership of Dr. Olagbaye also welcomes all delegates to yet another vibrant celebration of arts, culture, and the creative industries in Ekiti state
The Chairman prays that the festival will inspire creativity, foster connections, and showcase the rich diversity of our community, as the colours, sounds, and rhythms bring joy and enrichment to all who participate.
