The former running mate of the gubernatorial candidate of the Action Democratic Party in the just concluded Ekiti governorship election which took place on Saturday, 18th June, 2022 in Ekiti State, Mr. Idowu Afuye, has advised his former principal, Engr. Kemi Elebute-Halle, to go back to her business having lost out in the election, adding that she should think on how she could collaborate with the governor-elect, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji and contribute her quota towards the development of the State.
Afuye, who had earlier decamped to the All Progressives Congress (APC), few weeks to the election, gave this admonition while reacting to the outcome of the election in Ado-Ekiti, the State capital.
Similarly, he urged the former Governor of the State, Engr. Segun Oni, who was the candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), in the election not to challenge the outcome by pursuing unnecessary litigation that would later amount to effort in futility.
Describing the governor-elect, Afuye noted that, Oyebanji is a typical and thorough bred Ekiti man, who will pilot the affairs of the State better by virtue of his experiences and sterling qualities both in politics and otherwise.
According to him, “the overwhelming victory recorded by Biodun Oyebanji in the election was a true reflection of the total rejection of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), by the electorates across the State”.
Afuye, therefore thanked the leadership of APC and people of Ekiti in general for their commitment before, during and after the Saturday gubernatorial polls.
