2023/2024 Admissions: FUOYE Debunks Fake News On Portal Reopening

Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), has debunked a fake news currently going viral on the internet that the University has reopened its portal to allow candidates seeking admission to change their courses.

Registrar of the University, Mr. Ibrahim Mufutau in a press release this weekend, said a social media report which directs candidates seeking admission into the University to proceed to its portal and change their courses for admission opportunities is fake news and should be disregarded.

He clarified that FUOYE has since closed its portal and is about to conclude its admission process and warned unsuspecting members of the public to beware of internet fraudsters and scammers who are fond of using such fake news to swindle innocent candidates.

The fake news currently trending on the internet with the title; FUOYE ACTIVATE PORTAL FOR CHANGE OF COURSE ON JAMB CAPS FOR 2023/2024 ACADEMIC SESSION , reads in part: “All aspirants that want to do change of course on jamb caps can now proceed to the nearest JAMB office/JAMB accredited CBT center for their change of course (sic) …”

Mr. Ibrahim therefore warned that: “ the above is fake news and should be disregarded by everyone to avoid being deceived or scammed by internet fraudsters. The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has since closed its portal for change of course, screening or any related activities and will conclude the admission process very shortly. “
