Ahead of the 2027 general elections, a frontline chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ekiti State, Otunba Emmanuel Fayose, has officially obtained the party’s Nomination and Expression of Interest forms to contest for the Ekiti Central Federal Constituency I seat in the House of Representatives.
The constituency comprises Ado and Irepodun/Ifelodun Local Government Areas.
Speaking after collecting the forms at the ADC National Secretariat in Abuja on Tuesday, Fayose said the constituency has not been adequately represented at the National Assembly. He stated that his decision to contest is driven by a commitment to serve as a credible voice for his people and to advance inclusive development across the constituency.
“My constituency deserves more. What we need is purposeful leadership and people-focused representation that addresses the pressing needs of our people and delivers more democratic dividends,” he said.
Fayose emphasized that effective representation and impactful leadership serve as the critical link between government and the people, and are essential for driving grassroots development. He pledged that, if elected, every community in Ekiti Central Federal Constituency I would experience the impact of responsive governance through legislative engagement and the facilitation of developmental projects.
The aspirant committed to providing strategic and quality representation anchored on integrity, accountability, and pro-people policies and programmes. He noted that his emergence would create renewed opportunities for credible, focused, and accessible leadership.
Fayose outlined that his legislative agenda would prioritize economic opportunities, infrastructure development, youth and women empowerment, education, accessible healthcare, and human capital development, among other key interventions.
“I will prioritize the interest and welfare of my people. I will bring governance closer to them through responsive representation, accessible leadership, empowerment initiatives, and practical development programmes that will directly and positively impact our communities,” he stated.
Expressing confidence in his candidacy, Fayose said his campaign is anchored on competence, grassroots connection, and the capacity to deliver purposeful leadership. He appealed to party leaders, members, and supporters in the constituency to rally behind his ambition to secure victory in the 2027 elections.
