A chieftain and Founder of the Irawo Owuro Foundation, Otunba Oluwadare Owolabi, has called on Nigerians to support the continuity of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima beyond 2027, to consolidate ongoing reforms and build a stronger economy.
Owolabi said Nigeria needs steady and focused leadership to build on current reforms, strengthen the economy and create more opportunities for its people.

In a statement on Thursday, he noted that the Tinubu/Shettima administration has recorded important developments across key sectors of the economy.
According to him, the developments include economic growth, with Nigeria’s economy growing by 4.43 per cent in the second quarter of 2026, compared with 4.23 per cent in the same quarter of 2025.
He also cited progress in education, noting that over 1.5 million students have benefited from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), with more than N282 billion disbursed in student loans.
Owolabi further listed infrastructure development, with more than 2,700 kilometres of major roads reported to be under construction, reconstruction or rehabilitation as of May 2026, and the growth of the nation’s external reserves to $54.7 billion in September 2026, which he said has strengthened the country’s capacity to meet external obligations.
He added that government interventions and ongoing reforms in agriculture and energy are aimed at improving food production, expanding domestic refining and reducing dependence on imported petroleum products.
Owolabi said these achievements provide compelling reasons to consider continuity, while acknowledging that challenges such as high cost of living, food prices, unemployment and insecurity still require urgent attention.
“As we approach 2027, I encourage Nigerians to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima for a second term to consolidate ongoing reforms, expand economic opportunities, empower our youths and build a more prosperous nation,” he said.
“Nigeria deserves a future where hard work pays, businesses thrive and every citizen has a fair chance to succeed. Let us keep moving forward together,” Owolabi added.
