Comrade Law Ibitoye has emerged as National President of the Ilupeju Youth Development Association, IYDA, with a pledge to focus on youth empowerment, education, and community development.

The new executive council was inaugurated on Sunday in Ilupeju-Ekiti at a ceremony attended by the Apeju of Ilupeju-Ekiti, Oba Sunday David Awe Akingbade I, community leaders, and prominent indigenes.

In his acceptance speech, Ibitoye described his emergence as a collective victory for Ilupeju youths and pledged to lead with transparency, accountability, and inclusiveness.
He outlined key priorities to include establishment of a Youth Vocational Development Centre, revival of the Students’ Union body, promotion of youth welfare, and strengthening collaboration with community stakeholders.
Ibitoye also called on influential indigenes to support unemployed youths with jobs and mentorship. He said the community should strategically position its people for greater representation in government, expressing optimism that Ilupeju-Ekiti would produce senators, House of Representatives members, and ministers.

In his remark, the traditional ruler of Ilupeju-Ekiti, His Royal Majesty, Oba David Awe, charged the executive to prioritise unity, teamwork, and community development. He said the future of Ilupeju-Ekiti rests on the youths and urged indigenes to support the new leadership.
Mr. Sola Ogunmiluyi, President of Plateau Social Club of Ilupeju-Ekiti, and Mr. Dele Owolabi, Chairman of Ilupeju Development Association, IDA, Ado Branch, advised the executive to respect the traditional institution and IDA leadership by seeking approvals before embarking on projects. They warned against actions that could undermine community unity.
The duo also urged youths and students to focus on education and take advantage of developmental opportunities to prepare for future leadership roles.
Immediate past President, Engr. Christopher Femi Fagbemi, said his eight-year tenure facilitated employment for 116 youths, organised empowerment programmes, supported students, established an ICT centre in partnership with ECKPRA, built shops, and encouraged youth participation in modern farming.
Fagbemi thanked indigenes for their support and pledged backing for the new executive.
